Nicky Dörfel earns his living by retrieving golf balls. His company, Golf Square, is active at golf courses and golf events, both domestically and internationally. Diving in the Netherlands

In June 2022, the Porsche European Open utilized Nicky's services. The water hazard at hole fourteen was drained for the event, after which Nicky retrieved thousands of balls. "Sometimes we find as many as ten thousand balls in one day," he says. The balls are recycled and sold as second-hand. In this case, they were donated to the DP World Golf Ball Container. This month, Nicky's company Golf Square was also active at Golfclub Landgoed Bergvliet in Den Hout, North Brabant. There are companies that earn millions in this business. Additionally, there are many diving clubs that do this kind of work voluntarily. The demand seems to be substantial in any case.
