European golf ball diver Nicky Dörfel continues his mission to give golf balls a second life within the amateur circuit. This time he dove into the lakes of the Green Eagle Golf Course near Hamburg, Germany, ahead of the Porsche European Open on the DP World Tour.
The Dutchman, who arrived at the Green Eagle Golf Course in a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, supports DP World's mission to collect golf balls throughout the season on the DP World Tour. The goal is to promote the sport of golf worldwide and use DP World's logistics expertise to transport the collected balls in a specially converted sea container.
Via DP World's global logistics network, the DP World Golf Ball Container will appear at various tournaments throughout the rest of the season. Among other places, the container will be visible at DP World Tour events in Sweden, Germany, England, Spain and Dubai.
At Green Eagle, Nicky collected more than 500 golf balls. This brings his total contribution to the collection to over 30,000 balls, following previous dives at DP World Tour locations in Belgium, the Netherlands and other countries.
Fans, players and spectators are also encouraged to donate their unused golf balls. Additionally, there are prizes to be won at each tour event.
At the end of the season, the collected balls will be distributed to grassroots golf projects to further promote the sport of golf and get more people playing.
