Local golf ball diver Nicky Dörfer has used his unique talents for the DP World Golf Ball Container initiative, which collects used golf balls during events in the DP World Tour 2022 season and gives them a second life.

While diving in the lakes of Rinkven International Golf Club ahead of the Soudal Open on the DP World Tour, Nicky and his colleague Martijn Doorn collected 3,500 balls from the water hazards on the course.

The balls are donated to DP World's Golf Ball Container, a reused 20-foot sea container that can hold as many as 200,000 golf balls and will weigh approximately 12 tons when full.

DP World launched the container earlier this year in Dubai with the aim of supporting organizations that promote golf from the grassroots, to grow the sport worldwide.
